RoleLogic v1.20.1

Release Date: November 7, 2026

What's New

On the free plan, a Role Link gives its role to the first 100 people on the integration's list. Someone who had left the server or been banned kept their place among those 100 for as long as the integration kept listing them, so the next person in line never got the role. Removing them did not help either: the integration put them back on its next sync.

Now users who are not in the server don't take a slot:

  • The next person in line gets the role. On each sync (about every 30 minutes on free) the bot checks who on the list is in the server. A slot held by someone who left, was kicked or banned, or never joined goes to the next user in line in that same sync.
  • Nothing to remove by hand. Keep the list exactly as your integration sends it. If someone comes back, they get their slot back when they rejoin.
  • Shown on the card. The role link card says how many people on the list aren't in the server, and the "waiting to sync" count no longer includes them.
  • No extra load. Only free links over their 100-user limit do the check, inside the sync the bot already runs. Premium links, and links at or under the limit, work exactly as before.
  • For integration developers. GET /users now reports absent_count, and synced_count and pending_count leave those users out. The reference for that endpoint now shows the response it actually returns.

Also fixed: when an integration added a user beyond the 100th slot, that user briefly got the role until the next sync took it away. Now they wait for a slot like everyone else.

Integrations Keep Up With Who Is in Each Server

Integrations learn which servers you are in from your Discord sign-in, refreshed in the background. Several problems let that list go out of date, so integrations could keep treating someone as a member of a server they had left, or miss a server they had just joined:

  • A temporary Discord error no longer stops refreshes for good. A brief network problem or rate limit used to be treated like a removed sign-in, and that member's server list was never refreshed again. Now only Discord confirming the sign-in was removed counts, and anything else is simply tried again an hour later.
  • Background refreshes are flowing again. One sign-in that kept failing could hold up the refresh of everyone else. Server lists that had gone weeks without a refresh are being brought up to date over the next couple of days, and every member is refreshed about once a week from now on.
  • A server list that can't be refreshed no longer stays forever. If RoleLogic can no longer check your servers (for example, you removed RoleLogic from your Discord Authorized Apps), your last known list is kept for 14 days and then removed, so integrations stop counting you in servers they can no longer confirm. Signing in again on any integration page restores it at once.
  • Signing in while in no servers now clears the servers on file from before.

If you signed in to an integration a long time ago and an integration role goes missing around November 21, open that integration's verify page and sign in with Discord again.

Video Guides

  • A guide on every dashboard page. Each page has a Watch guide button for the video that covers it, and the player lists the whole series, so any guide is one click away. Paused and scheduled rules link to the guide on going live. Narration is in English; other languages say so under the video and keep English captions.
  • Integration guides. The osu! Player Role, Twitch Follower Role, Form Respondent Role, Kick Channel Role and Birthday Role pages now show a step-by-step video, and the osu!, Form Respondent and Kick pages now describe exactly what each one does.
  • A fuller homepage tour. The homepage explainer now walks through AND rules, booster glow, integrations, cross-server roles and more ideas.

Pay with PayPal

Card checkout cannot take PayPal for RoleLogic's location, so checkout now offers Prefer PayPal? It takes you to the Patreon tier that grants the same slots, linked to your Discord account. Patreon prices now include the same 8% SST card checkout adds, so both ways cost the same. Checkout tells you when something differs for you: monthly billing on an annual plan, a promo code that won't carry over, or a Patreon tier that would be replaced rather than added.

The cookie banner is gone. From November 2, 2026 the website measures visits with Google Analytics for everyone. The statistics are not linked to your Discord account, and you can turn them off with the switch on the Privacy page. The privacy policy, in all seven languages, explains this.

Integration Updates

Across Integrations

  • Large removals and paused links are handled calmly. When RoleLogic holds a large removal for your confirmation, or an integration is paused because the server is over its integration limit, integrations that keep a member list now wait and check again every 20 minutes instead of failing over and over. Once you confirm, the change goes through on its own.
  • Steadier under load. The Birthday, Bluesky, Form Respondent, Kick, Stripe and osu! integrations no longer run out of database connections or memory during a burst of activity, which could take one offline.
  • Fairer request limits. In those same six integrations, a per-visitor limit was far stricter than intended, which could slow pages and reject requests. It now allows the intended rate.
  • Security updates. Their encryption libraries were updated to clear newly published advisories.
  • Rule previews count what you see. In the Birthday, Kick, Twitch and osu! role settings, the match count under a rule now counts the rule you are editing (marked Preview of unsaved rule), instead of showing "0 of 0" on a new link.

Kick Channel Role

  • Lapsed subscribers no longer get the role back. Kick keeps a founder badge on some expired subscriptions, which kept handing the subscriber role back. Only a current subscription counts now.
  • Unfollows reach Discord within hours, instead of taking up to nine days.
  • Renamed and expired channels keep working. A channel renamed on Kick is followed under its new name, and a channel whose Kick sign-in expired still removes lapsed subscriptions. Its role settings show Reconnect channel with an explanation.
  • Members linked with a blank name are filled in, so they can be checked and show a name on every page.
  • Kick events are no longer turned away. A request limit was rejecting part of Kick's event traffic; events now arrive in full.
  • Clearer messages. Cancelling Kick's sign-in, an expired sign-in, or a Kick account already linked to someone else now returns you to the verify page with an explanation, and a channel connected without the needed permissions is refused with instructions. "Chat messages (last 30 days)" now really counts the last 30 days.

Twitch Follower Role

  • A brief network problem no longer disconnects a channel. Only a sign-in that Twitch actually rejects needs reconnecting, and the role settings show a Reconnect button when it does.
  • Cancelling Twitch's sign-in returns you to the verify page with an explanation instead of an error.
  • Role updates that never reached RoleLogic are resent, so a dropped connection no longer leaves a role waiting until your next refresh.

Form Respondent Role

  • See who responded by name. The Responses page, its CSV export (new discord_name column) and the respondent list show each member's name, not just their Discord ID.
  • Quiz safety warning. When a quiz form would give its role to everyone who submits, regardless of score, the role settings now warn you and point to the rule that checks the score.
  • Quiz fixes. The quiz template is described correctly, a graded question with an empty points box now saves the 1 point it shows, and a form that hasn't opened yet shows a readable date such as "opens on 10 Nov 2026 at 18:00 (UTC)".

Birthday Role

  • Typo-proof conditions. Zodiac, Chinese zodiac, season, birthstone and weekday values are no longer case-sensitive ("Leo" works), and a misspelled value is caught when you save instead of silently matching nobody.

osu! Player Role

  • Names on the players page. The players page now shows Discord names instead of raw IDs.

Improvements and Fixes

  • Reaction-role bots no longer stop your rules. When another bot rewrote a member's whole role list from an old copy, undoing several of RoleLogic's roles at once, each role counted as a separate revert and could trip the safety stop for the whole server. That kind of update now counts as one.
  • Role changes survive Discord outages. A role change that hit a Discord server error was dropped instead of retried. It is now retried automatically.
  • Integrations that add the same member twice at once no longer get an error back.
  • Your server list loads more reliably. The dashboard retries Discord after a timeout or a Discord-side error, and opening a server you don't manage now says so instead of failing with an error.
  • Smoother open dashboards. Permission checks are renewed in the background, so a dashboard left open no longer stalls every few minutes.
  • Staying signed in. Two tabs renewing your session at the same moment no longer sign you out everywhere.
  • Unsaved-changes prompt. The "leave without saving?" question no longer crashes the page in Firefox.
  • Steadier background syncs. The bot retries a member page after a dropped connection or a Discord server error instead of skipping the server until the next cycle, and role link logs stop at the first deleted or inaccessible log channel instead of trying it once per member.
  • Security. Sign-in cookies and access tokens are no longer written to server error logs.
  • Documentation. The Discord role hierarchy page now explains how to change role order on desktop and mobile, why a role won't drag, and what common bot role errors mean.
  • Fully translated. Everything new in this release is available in English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Malay, and Brazilian Portuguese.
